Call for carers to volunteer in a research study

This is an opportunity to take part in a research project looking at the impact of stress on people who care for adults with an intellectual disability. This includes family members, friends, neighbours and other carers providing regular, unpaid support to a person with an intellectual disability.

Carers (informal/family carers) are invited to partake in one virtual interview, scheduled at a time that is convenient for them, to find out about their experiences of providing care. The study will be looking at:

  • stressful events involved with caring

  • methods used to manage stressful events

  • positive experiences of caring

  • support needs of carers

The study will involve taking part in a single online interview, via Zoom. This should take approximately 1 hour, though may last longer and participants will receive a £15 gift voucher as compensation for their time.

Interviews are taking place Mondays to Saturdays, 9.00am to 5.00pm.

If you are interested in taking part, please contact Joanne on jxo636@student.bham.ac.uk and see the poster below for more details.

N.B. This study is not organised or managed by Leighton Buzzard Mencap.
