HIGH 5s

High 5s is an activity youth club for eight to 18 year olds with disabilities and special educational needs, running one evening a week during term-time. The club is designed to be a safe space for children to socialise, try new activities and feel somewhere they belong.

Activities include things such as arts and crafts, Lego and K’nex, various sports and outside play, board games, dress up/imaginary play, music, dance, junk modelling, sensory activities and themed weeks. During the sessions, we have a short break for a snack and a drink and try to always finish with a big group activity at the end to help develop social skills and team work.

There is a high ratio of volunteers to support the group and provide a safe and happy environment where our young people will be encouraged to make friends through mutual interests. Parents/carers are welcome to drop off (with prior discussions with group leaders) or to join in activities, or to just sit and chat with the other parents and enjoy a hot drink. Any children attending who require assistance with personal hygiene must be accompanied by a parent/carer at all times. Any children attending under 8 must also be accompanied by a parent/carer at all times.

If you would like to know more about our High 5s, get in touch.

Please note, there is currently a waiting list to join the club.

"High 5s has been a place that we can take our special needs children and all siblings included too. No judgement."
